Good perspective piece. I think all the Iron Bowl wins in a row spoiled the heck out of Auburn fans. Many fans are happy with being a winning program. Especially if they can talk trash to the bammers. So 8-5 with an Iron Bowl win was acceptable. Then their are the in depth fans who watch from recruiting through off-season/springball right into fall ball and then the season. They see the huge amount of talent not getting the job done and know it's time for a change. The in depth fan accepted "we're young" in 2011 and while not ecstatic were realists and happpy with the big bowl win. The Collapse, as I shall call it, was just too much.
Any coach would be happy as hell to come to Auburn right now.
