Come Together Today!!!

  • I am looking all over message boards, and we're fighting each other as Auburn fans. Guys, this is the week of the Iron Bowl. I realize we don't agree on much a lot of the time, but this is still Auburn and Alabama week. Let's come together and stand against UA this week. They are talking about rolling our trees after the trees were poisoned. They are saying we will never beat them again. Are we just going to sit back and fight amongst ourselves this week? We are Auburn and we are bigger than that. For the next few days let's just turn our attention to Alabama. Look, I know this is a message board and disagreements make it more fun. I too love to disagree. But right now, this is bigger than us. This is everybody in the country counting us out and our own fans dreading this game. How do you think our players feel when we talk about being "All In" and yet we are talking about how UA will crush us. Look, I'm guilty of this myself. Right now, we need to look at taking on Alabama. I remember 2009. We stood and cheered at the end of the game though we lost. That helped set the foundation for a national championship in 2010 as anything else did. Let's do that again and show the country what Auburn is and that we are not these people bickering at each other before our biggest rival is coming to town. War Eagle!

Look the frustration and attitude of an anticipated loss to Bama from some comes from high expectations of talent versus the true understanding of youth and experience. At game time we all will. be pulling for our team but allow for some honest expressions of doubt. WDE

After Saturday afternoon I agree with you. However, these next couple of days let's just get behind the team. That's all I'm saying. I love white-tigers by the way nice picture.

  • We're Auburn people. We always bicker, and we usually disagree about everything. It's in our nature, it's in our culture. And in the end, it's actually good for us. That diverse culture is actually what has propelled our great university to the #1 school in the state, academically and athletically. That is undeniable.

Unlike our neighbors across that state, we don't worship football coaches and have to have our foot on our opponent's throat in order to feel good about ourselves. We don't need a "God" to be our football coach...and we sure as heck don't sell out our university to hire that same football coach to win at all costs. Unlike most Alabama fans, who only love Alabama football...Auburn people love Auburn University, and being passionate about our football is just one of our ways to express it.

But we do bicker....alot. And we disagree...alot. Sometimes even to our detriment, in the short term. But in the long term, it's healthy.

That said, when Auburn people come together as we did last year when our beloved university's reputation and our QB was under assault from all sides in attempt to derail our championship season....college football has never seen such unity from a fan base as they saw from Auburn's in 2010.

No matter what happens on Saturday, our fans will be there in full colors, yelling like hell, and united. Count on it.

As Coach Jordan used to say...."Let's go beat Alabama!"
