“they ain't got nothing but people...Alabama mystique...Georgia mystique...they’ve done it with people. Hell, we’ve got people, too.”Pat Dye
Auburn people feel a deep and passionate responsibility to uphold standards not written on paper, but lived from the heart.
Anybody who doesn't think that Melvin Smith is a tremendous addition to this staff is a moron. He'd be absolutely brilliant for us. So, who's coaching linebackers?
My girlfriend is 47. I find 54 being geriatric as kind of creepy thinking myself. I would venture to say nobody is geriatric really that is a great coach at the time.
Personally, I don't think it's old at all. Then again, I do tell my cursed significant other (cursed because she picked me :-D of course) that I'll soon be taking her to a nursing home. Haha, that is simply a joke to her though. Regardless of age the man is a great coach. Saban is not exactly a spring chicken and he's considered one of the top coaches and recruiters in the business is he not?
Gus Malzahn is 47 as well. The point of that list is to show that Melvin Smith is not considered geriatric as it were in the coaching field. I know, you'll probably say something about that not being a position coach. I would venture to say it takes more energy to be a head coach than a position coach but that's just me.
Those are a few of the top names in the coaching game.
