Ron, where does our list come from? Are these leaked from the AD or the search committee? I was under the impression that the committee was sworn to silence. Do some coaches publicly throw their name in the hat? Also, do the agents get into some public disinformation?

Its fine to have a difference of opinion, but Mike Dyer would have been "approved" by anybody out of high school and if the only argument against someone is that he missed on a recruit (Pike), aren't we spitting the straw a bit? Don't get me wrong, Jimbo, IMO, is much better suited for AU, but its a stretch to disqualify someone for a decision made on a recruit, esp when that recruit was the god son of another coach on staff.

Why don't the committee schedule the interview with Petrino and let's go ahead and get this over with? Any hire other than Petrino will be a disappointment to most fans.

Why would we want to hire Jimbo F, it would be like hiring CGC back without the NC. I understand every-ones concerns
about BP and share them but in My honest opinion He would get us to where we want to be.

Exactly. It is interesting that, come time for a coaching search, suddenly every distraught Auburn fan is now an expert on running a major D-1 football program. None of us truly have a comprehensive understanding of what is going on (unless there are some old AD's who follow this website), so perhaps it would be best if we all maintain a loyal and healthy fanhood towards Auburn University and simply watch to see the result of the search. This will not be the end of Auburn football, and the coach who is hired, whomever this individual may be, will most likely be qualified and enthusiastic. We are simply wasting energy and inducing anxiety when we profess this search to be the end of days, or that one coach is Satan himself and another coach is worthless. Seriously.

I just can't see Fisher. He's okay but not anything outstanding. He doesn't manage that well against the stiffer competition and question regarding his offense. I see him as mediocre and will not consistently have us in the BCS contention, Almost, but not quite. He is as you safe a safe and popular choice for the Auburn PTB which is what worries me. Petrino is by and far the better coach and has that innate power to lead us to the top. I don't trust the Auburn decision makers, sorry everyone.
