Coach Search: Stock Report 12/3 (Updated 11:30 a.m.)

  • I was part of the program from 82-86 and know all of the committee members except Mac, fairly well and I know them to be men who love Auburn. I trust that they will make the right decision and will support whomever the choice turns out to be. We all may have gone about this in a different way, or we may not have, who knows but we all love Auburn. Let's give these guys the support to do what they believe is best for our great university. War Eagle!

  • I think all of these would be successful hires but think L Fedora would be the best choice. I would definitely prefer him over any of the assistants and most of the more highly sought after head coaches have either apparently bowed out or carry over some issues that would be likely to create a divide in the fan base. I don't know that much about Fedora so can some of you let me know if that he has some real negatives that I am unaware of. I really like the way he was able to handle the UNC situation this year and think that experience would help at getting AU on the right track immediately.

    Negatives 1. turd 2. even if he beats bama the turd nation will claim partial credit for it 3. no previous HC experience so it will take a season or two to addapt

    Agreed. The concern/question with Kirby is how much of the defense they run is his (or is at least is now his). If we KNEW that he was in control of the defense then the DC from a school that has been in top 3 in defense for 5 years in a row would obviously be a great hire. But your implied point, we don't know if those X's and O's are his. My assumption, is that most of it is Saban's.

    Just curious, do you have any idea what else Jesus said and did in that encounter or what they point of that account being in the Bible is? I never cease to be amazed at how at how readily people misquote and misapply scripture to suit whatever argument they are trying to make.

  • Is the best we can do? Someone please explain to me why our candidates are college coordinators? We need a proven Head Coach. If money is not a issue why can't this happen? Why can't we get a Grand Slam hire like a Bob Stoops? From all the candidates I've seen which I'm not a fan of either you have got to hire Strong or
    Petrino.. It's shame thou . I mean really people Clemson Offensive Coordinator. Heck, I guess if JJ is in charge we should not get or hopes up to high. We derserve better and hope there names out there we don't know about. If were going after Coordinator and going to gamble bring D. Graig back. He is as proven as the rest.

  • Now I had been really happy with the committee UNTIL the interest arose in the OC at Clemson. I really do not think that is a good choice. Gus's offense has worked quite well in the SEC with big fast defenses. Furthermore, I'm not sure about his recruiting. Can somebody tell me why Morris is getting interest and Kingsbury is not? That makes absolutely NO SENSE unless there is some good ole boy networking going on to some extent at least.
