Look at 2 of our top choices? One has zero HC experience (I think he has been a great DC), one has 1 year HC experience in the sunbelt, 1 just barely beat a woeful 6-6 GT team and half of his staff is going to be gone. I just don't know why we seem to always do this. Obviously Petrino is not going to be it and I think that is a huge mistake but I can't do anything about that but I am very disappointed. We have been coachless for 8 days. I thought people were saying that this search & choice would be swift this time and not drag out like last time. How are we still just gauging interest from people? Is Malzahn even on the Arkansas list? Phillip thanks for the update. I know these "could be" great hires but this time around I was hoping we wouldn't have to settle for "could be" great hires, I was hoping for someone who has proven already that they can win bigtime by having already done it? If this is the best and the highest we are shooting than I am disappointed. Who is supposed to be the big fish? Surely not Smart, I hope. I wanted Petrino but I thought he would be a back up plan to the big fish they were going to surprise us with. Well, I got surprised I guess. :(

Hey bwil, he nailed it on the head and you show your ignorance? He is exactly right. If this goes down like it looks, this will be the same ol doggie doo we have seen over and over, contrary to what PM writes. What underwhelming choices we have gathered up. They need a good ol boy who can be controlled by the few. The only thing that has changed is it used to be Bobby Lowders call. Now, there are 3-5 people jockeying for position. If it goes down and we hire a unproven head coach, the search committee will have been puppets and I will lose respect for what one or two I still had respect for. We have to fight fire with fire, and we are gonna throw a glass of water on a full blown Athletic Dept fire? Reap what you sow!

Phillip I know you are so tired, and I wanted to thank you for all the hard work. I think it got lost in my tiny rant. Sorry about that:) I am sure your sweet and patient wife will be well rewarded after all this is over!
