Buddy McClinton intercepted more passes at safety than all our dbs combined the last 2 years did, and I liked Shelling, but I respectfully disagree. I also liked Calvin Jackson, Carlos Rogers, Pat Lee, and Larry Willingham, and David Langner made a big play or two along the way( Mike Fuller also)

Anybody remember 1993 - FL is up 10-0 and has first and 10 inside our 10yd line and Chris intercepts and returns 94 yds and we end up winning 38-35? May be the most exciting game i remember and I've been a fan for 60 years. No body sat down and my ears hurt for 2 days after. It was one of the most dramatic MO turns I have ever seen. He gets my vote!!

This is a topic that no one is wrong on. I didn't think Rogers was the best his senior year but he won the Thorpe award. That alone recognizes he was the nations best. As of today, he is the only Auburn player to win it. Until another does, in my book, he is the best we have had. WDE!!

Martavious Houston is the Auburn DB who flushed the most talent down the drain or maybe he blew it away in a puff of smoke.

David King wasn't too shabby.

Carlos. His NFL career proves it. I remember Finebaum laughing at his press conference when he stated he would remain for his senior year in order to be a first round draft choice. Finebaum called him delusional. That guy is wrong more than a broken watch and nobody calls him on it. Amazing.

fuller also led the nation in punt returns. nothing flashy but straight up the middle adds yards. He had a pretty good career in the NFL also. i go with the midgets. Langner, Fuller, Billingsley

The Chris S. play I remembert is the INT for a TD he made against GA in '93 off of a tipped ball. He ran for about 60 yds and outran the GA DB's who had to have been faster, dove into the corner of the endzone. A great play

I think it was Jayson Bray rather than Shelling that was covering on the final play against uga (right hash mark, outjumped Bray at the one and fell in the endzone). Remember it well. In the stands at JH and knew we were in trouble when Charles Dorsey scooped the ball after the play was over and started running. Our guy even chased him knowing that if the ref spots the ball the clock runs out. But noooooooo! Charles wouldn't stop and the ref stopped the clock to spot the ball and it gave Bobo one more play. One more lousy play and the rest is history.

Still think Bowden should have gone for 2 on last possession. Our team was beat down tired. I think all the fans were too. Changed OT forever.
