***Chizik responds to allegations of assts taken off road...

  • ***Chizik started is weekly press conference congratulating Ashton Richardson for being a Rhodes Scholarship. He called Richardson and great young man.

    ***Chizik announced that Jonathan Wallace will be the starting quarterback for the New Mexico State game. Chizik said his play was very positive against Texas A&M. He said there will be more pressure on Wallace this week preparing to be the starter. He said the playbook would expand for Wallace.

    ***Chizik said Wallace energized the team and provided a spark when he played Saturday. He said he was very poised under pressure.

    ***Chizik said they don't know Clint Moseley's health status for this weekend's game. He has an ankle injury. Chizik said Moseley won't be able to practice Tuesday.

    ***Chizik said Kiehl Frazier is not 100 percent but his shoulder is getting better. He said Frazier should be ready to play if needed Saturday.

    ***Chizik said they would work Ricardo Louis as an emergency quarterback this week and may consider other options.

    ***Chizik said OC Scot Loeffler would be in the coaching box Saturday, not on the sidelines.

    ***To a question of whether or not two of his assistants have been taken off the recruiting road, Chizik offered no comment other than to say his focus is on his team and players and trying to win Saturday's game.

    ***Chizik said CB Chris Davis had a concussion a couple of weeks ago and his status is uncertain for this week.

    ***Chizik said he prefers to go on defense first in a game and his offense to get the ball first in the 2nd half. Because of his defensive struggles on opening drives, they've thought about going on offense first if they have a choice.

    If Chizik had been noticing, Wallace has provided a spark everytime he has been in each
    game. Sure, he has made mistakes, but he has been more positive than negative. I can't
    wait until he has another staff to develop his skills. Believe me, he has a chance to be a
    good quarterback.

  • People, what would you have him do??? IF he answers it and says no truth, how many would beleive him. If he says yes, then the cretins have a field day. Either way, ANY answer just gives credibility to sheridan where he has none to anybody NOT wearing red and white. Why give that uat cretin ANYTHING??!??!?!? He did the right thing... one of the few this year.

  • I can't believe he would say "no comment" if it were not true. I said that a few weeks back when it was told that Taylor was taken off the road. This type of thing is done for a reason. That reason is not very likely to be:
    1. They have been going to their son's games instead of recruits games.
    2. They are not going to be here next year.

    Bryan's response is telling.
    "No, Trooper and Luper are actively recruiting players on campus and talking to them once a week"
    They are "actively recruiting players on campus." I think that response tells you what two have been taken "off the road."

    ABOUT TIME!
    This is a load of garbage; he is putting the negativity on the defense when this is purely a decision HE has made each time we win the toss. I was totally exasperated when he put us on defense first against Texas A &M....you have one of the most prolific offenses in the country against you and he knows our defense gets worn out every week from being on the field....so what do you do....let's think....mmmm...lets see...lets put the defense on the field first and give the high scoring team the ball for an extra touch/score....He is ridiculous!
