If Chizik is retained at Auburn, it will almost be cruel to Gene Chizik. It's tough enough to win in the SEC when everyone is on the same page. If he returns, I'm afraid that we have not seen the bottom yet. The bottom will be when 40 plus point losses become the norm and when there are only a couple of SEC games that we have any chance at winning. With all the turmoil in the program, I doubt Chizik would win an SEC game next year. We have road games at LSU, Ark, Texas A&M, and Tennessee. Then, we get Bama, UGA, MSU, and Ole Miss at home. If Chizik returns, find a win in that schedule. I fear that we will lose 18 straight in conference by the time next year ends and that would mean the closest thing to the death penalty for Auburn. It could take 5-10 years to dig out of that. We cannot allow this to happen.
Lets just hope the powers that be find enough sense to realize the reality of bringing Chizik back. We only think we are feeling low now. Can you imagine this board and the Auburn family after another year like this?
Chizik could go 0 for the SEC again if he returns...
