My girlfriend and I decided to buy one in December 2011. Without a doubt the most energetic dog I've ever seen. Be sure to have an outside fence to let her run around in to burn off energy daily. My girlfriend thought it would be a good idea to make her a house dog, and we have paid more money in phone chargers, remote controls, and toilet paper than we paid for the dog, which was $300. Ours chews non stop and refused to learn how to use the bathroom outside...not trying to turn you off from a Brittany, just giving you a heads up. They are very smart and sweet dogs, but they require a ton of work.

Let me put in a good word for shelter dogs. I have a shelter mutt I adopted in 2011 and he is amazing. I've owned purebred dogs before, and they cannot compare to this sweet "Heinz 57 variety mutt" as my AU-educated vet calls him. Sweet, smart and healthy. Best dog EVER. Please look at the many, many homeless dogs available and consider adopting. Most purebred dogs have serious health issues and some bad breeding in their history.
