  • I hope he stays too. You never know which guy is going to be the all American player.

I sure don't want to lose him to LSU or Florida.

  • Can you imagine a girl being engaged to one of these guys who is committed but still looking and waiting until closer to the wedding to decide? "Committed " just doesn't mean the same anymore. Hope he stays. He will probably turn out to be a quality player.

  • Sometimes I think these guys waffle on commitments just so they can take the nice trips to other schools. They are under tremendous pressure to visit other schools, who, like Auburn feel that if they can get a guy to visit, they have a chance to sway him. I'm always glad to get signing day over with. Just one time, though, I would like to see one of these hotshots with the hats all lined up on the table pick a hat and then have that school say "sorry, we're full".

Didn't that happen to Darius Philon in February with Alabama?

  • I hope he sticks around, because to me it seems Lawson gets more shaky by the day.

I get wat you are saying but I believe its more the reporters fault than the kids. If they could change it to a category like "Expected to sign LOI in February" it would be much better. Then we should call them committed when they sign the paper signing they will go to that school. About 99.5% of the 16 year old boys I grew up with did not really know what the word truly meant and had to learn it the hard way.

  • The word has several meanings. To football players wanted by many schools it means one thing and to a player that has an offer from a few second tier programs it means another. Thankfully, to the men that Auburn is recruiting recently, it means they're in for sure on the February when the letters of intent roll in. It's like stop. To a girl receiving attention from an unwanted source it means "stop." It may mean "not so fast" under different conditions. During the football recruiting months, it mens to a coaching staff, don't quit until the letter of intent arrives. Fans should be used to that by now. How many really stop at a stop sign, meaning all four wheels stop rotating or movement in any way? I knew one once. He was waned by the police in three states.

I disagree completely with this. Committing to a fiancé is totally different in this instance. The coach he committed to is gone. He has been completely upfront and stayed with his commitment instead of jumping ship before his completed assessment. I agree completely with his actions.

If you are making a very broad generalization about recruits on a whole you should state that.

Thanks. I did mean it in general sense. You are right in reminding me of the coaching change. I do wish they would no use "commit ,but rather "lean" or "prefer".

I think Carl is pretty solid. He just wants to take his visits IMO. I live really close and have watched him on a number of occasions. He is one of those that I just don't see any way that he isn't a star. I don't think I've seen a kid in a long time (maybe ever) who was physically this READY! He is a freak. If he were taller he would be touted higher than Clowney ever was. I really hope he sticks with the good guys. Bower strikes me as a kid that will be very successful by his JR if not Soph years. He is a worker with a ton of talent. You have to love that. If we were to reel in Adams as well then WOW. Liner will be good but he takes 4th in my opinion to the other 3.
