I gotta rant on this, because I'm sick and tired of hearing about it quite frankly.

Look people, yeh he bailed on Atlanta Falcons, once he realized the NFL wasn't his calling. Petrino-haters (people who's #1 priority isnt to win football games) seem to be holding this against him, it's another one of your talking points in trashing the guy.

The bottom line, it's a part of the business. Tell me the percentage of coaches that fulfill their entire contract, tell me the percentage of university's that fulfill their contracts with coaches.

As a matter of fact, Auburn just bailed on Gene Chizik before we let Gene fulfill his contract. I dont see any of you accusing Auburn of being a low-class for doing that.

Another example, Gene Chizik bailed on his Iowa State contract before he fulfilled it, I don't remember people complaining about him doing that.

Look, this is a cut throat BUSINESS. Bobby realized HIS best move was to get out of Atlanta, so he did. He didn't want to drag out his time in Atlanta for multiple years, so he made a personal decision to leave mid-season. Just like if it were up to many of the posters on this board, you would have fired Chizik mid season.

And if you're worried about Petrino ditching Auburn if we by the grace of God offer him the job, don't be. Head Coaches don't leave Auburn voluntarily. Coaching changes at Auburn happen when Auburn decides to fire a coach. Terry Bowden, Tubberville, Chizik, we ran off all of the guys.

Don't let the Petrino-haters get their way, if we pass on Petrino for a Malzahn type hire, prepare yourself for an average football team for 4 years. If we hire the coach with the best resume, who with WITHOUT A DOUBT, will have us competeting at the highest level. Well, then those Petrino-haters can sit at home and cry about having Petrino as our coach, while the rest of us will be in Atlanta, Miami, Glendale, Pasadena, New Orleans watching us play for championships.

We have been thrown a slow 80 mph fastball right down the middle of the plate, with the bases loaded, it's time for Auburn to swing the bat, and hit the grand slam that is Bobby Petrino.
