  • As much as I hate this outcome - because I was looking forward to seeing what Bisaccia was going to bring to the ST mostly - I am looking forward to seeing what Horton can do with the RBs. Yes, it seems our ST will now be an unknown. I hope Fountain will do a great job. I admit I feel for him, if he'd been hired at first, people would probably be giving him more of a chance on his own merit -- not just thinking he is a fall back hire because Bisaccia left. If Malzahn has chosen him, I'm sure he sees a great fit here. I've certainly liked what Malzahn has done so far. I like the type of men/coaches he has chosen - great men, integrity, recruiters and coaches.

As far as Bisaccia leaving now instead of waiting until after signing day? Yes, that makes it harder for AU - we may lose borderline recruits who will use this as an excuse. But I think it shows more integrity on Bisaccia's part (and AU's part) to go and announce it now. I'd be really mad as a recruit to have them leave right after I signed a piece of paper! Where is the integrity in that? In the long run - it's best to leave now when you know that's your intentions. Isn't that what many people have been saying about 17 year old recruits? If you know you don't want to come to AU - say so now - don't make AU or any college miss an opportunity for another recruit if you know you are not coming. Well, I think the coaches/universities should do the same. Those recruits who are for Auburn - will be here. Can't wait to see this class and those that come in years to come. War Eagle!

  • The people giving him grief are unbelievable. If ANY of you got offered jobs paying more than you are currently making, working at a higher profile job, you would ALL take it. I doubt any of you would also wait until your replacement was named to do so. Some of you people are quite amazing..

  • Any clue what the buyout amount was ? With Va Tech screwing of Loeffler and Grimes Auburn any dollar helps some.

I disagree. Not after just three weeks on the job. It's not like he was out of work to begin with. I truly don't care about him either way, it's just a bush league move.

He should have not been hired if 500K in 36830 was not enough. Pure b/s.

If you take a job - you do the job for a year and re-evaluate.

Strike one against Gus after batting .400 since his hire. WDE.

Why blame this on Gus. I`m sure he hired RB thinking he would be here awhile.

So if you started a job, got offered another job within a month making 25%-35% more money than you are at the job you just started, you'd declined the offer? Riiiiiight.

I have a feeling Gus was way out in front on this one. He has had plenty of time to decide what he wanted to do. I love how all of a sudden Gus has no clue what he is doing.

Rich Bisaccia has left the Auburn staff. Tim Horton will coach running backs and Scott Fountain will coach tight ends and special teams.

We have a couple of great kickers coming in with this class. They were high on Boulware and i would imagine that they were very excited about Bisaccia. Does anyone know if Fountain has any experience coaching special teams?

What do you mean by this? If Va Tech hired Loeffler and Grimes, then AU is not responsible for paying them their buyouts, correct? Does anyone know what Bisaccia's buyout was? Phillip reported that it was substantial.

  • As for Bisaccia, I can't have any ill will toward him for two reasons. First, put yourself in his shoes for a min. If you were offered a $600,000 raise to assume the same position that you have been coaching for the better part of the past decade with a much better team, wouldn't you almost have to take the position. Secondly, its not like he took a job with Cleveland. Its the Dallas Cowboys. Love them or hate them, they are the Cowboys.
