Interesting that Gus would have hired Fountain for ST job, thanks Phillip. Guess Gus really likes him.
What's your opinion of Horton to running backs? Just think it was a bonus to have him at TE. I would have like to seen Gus look around for another RB coach. That's what I meant by the hell with recruiting. Take the time and search for a RB coach.
But I guess the. Gus would have been searching for someone with ST coaching also.

Agree, Horton made more sense to me as the RB coach to start with. Fountain as ST coach sounds "experimental". Just have to trust Gus on that one.

special teams is nothing to experiment with; it is about a third of offensive and defensive production.

I like Horton as running backs coach. Hopefully, he can seal some RB recruits this weekend and next. Scott Fountain should be ok. WE!

Yeah, I thought I remembered Fountain being on the bubble for the TE job before Bisaccia was hired. That the high risk high reward situation when hiring an NFL assistant. There's always a chance they'll be going back when they get a chance, like CTR. It would have been nice if he had stayed for one year or at least through the recruiting period but I don't think it will have much impact on our team going forward. If we had to lose a coach, he would have been the one I would have picked.

I have a feeling Gus was way out in front on this one. He has had plenty of time to decide what he wanted to do. I love how all of a sudden Gus has no clue what he is doing.
