Big East may add TCU...

... and change their name to the Big East-West. ;-)

Good move for TCU.. win the Big East and you are in a BCS bowl... amazing what CGP has done wtih this program ..
2010 National Champions!!! WAR EAGLE!!!
I could see the Big East inviting TCU, I can't see TCU accepting the bid. I don't know that getting to the BCS would be much easier there than what they have going now. The newer BCS rules are pretty friendly to the non-AQ schools, and they would have to play at least 4 games in places like Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, New Jersey, etc.
It's one thing to play an occasional game that's far away, but TCU would be in a league where only two conference teams were within 1000 miles, and where three conference foes were 1,500 miles or more (Pitt, Syracuse, Rutgers, USF, UConn are all 1,200+)..
Away team fan support would be zero. Virtually no TCU fans would get to go to away games, and almost no one from opposing teams would travel to TCU for their away games.
I'm not sure what the upside would be to move like that. Especially with the Big 12 currently sporting a two-team hole in their lineup. To me it makes a whole lot more sense to add TCU and Tulsa, Memphis, SMU, Houston, Southern Miss, etc to the Big 12.
The Big East is just scratching for it's life. They see the writing on the wall, and the writing says they are going to have to answer questions about why their BCS participant is 8-4 and unranked this year.
PS. Don't forget that TCU was in the same conference as Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor and Arkansas for 70+ years. It wasn't too long ago that they were essentially a BCS type school.

TCU in the Big East would be weird......it'd be interesting though.
