Mike Kolen on Miami fullback. '69 maybe? Canes on our 2yd line or thereabouts. We were sitting about 6-7 rows off field in south endzone wooden bleachers back then. Fullback comes off rt. Tackle toward us. Kolen ABSOLUTELY smashes guy, and sends him backward. Being that close, we heard the hit,. Lord have mercy on that boy!!!

Kurt Crane hitting Clay Whitehurst in the 1986 Iron Bowl. Not only did Whitehurst fumble the ball but he load on the ground a good 5 minutes before he got up.

Not an Auburn play, but the best hit I've ever seen was "The Hit," Quentin Coryatt for A&M flattening McPherson from TCU. Broke his jaw & knocked him out cold.

How about Greg Staples - don't remember who he hit, but it was in J-H, and it was ausome. BUT, I attended AU in the late 60's, and EVERY HIT BY CAP'N KRUNCH (Mike Kolen) was ausome, which is why he made the Dolphins as a 12th ROUND DRAFT CHOICE!!!

Can't recall the year or who they were playing (believe w/in the last 10 years) but the BYU punter BLEW UP the returner, twice. Not much to go on, sorry.

I'm can't believe no one has mentioned when Karlos Dansby sacked jim Sorgi in the 2003 music city bowl. I mean, dude not only caused a game-clinching fumble, but also broke three of of the poor guy's ribs in the process. I used to have a picture of it as my desktop wallpaper. Also, I honestly can't remember the game, but that same year Dontarrious Thomas performed the only perfect form tackle I've ever seen in a game. Literally picked the guy up in the air and slammed him into the ground.

Hate to say it but Stacy Danley took one of the hardest shots I have ever seen. From what I heard Coach Dye went out on the field and told him to get up and run off the field to let them know they didn't get the best of you.
