Best 4-door truck

Well I need a truck. It needs four doors so I can haul the little babies around town, but big enough to tow a small camper if I happen to buy one. I don't want a new one; preferably something in the early 2000's. I trying to steer clear of a lemon... Which truck should I get?

Go Chevy Silverado. I've had three and you just can't beat the Vortec engines. Traded my 1999 for a 2010. The '99 had over 220k miles and would still fly and tow great. It was an extended cab, and I traded it for a 4 door crew cab.

if you are looking for a good truck you need a tundra lots of power and room.get the 4door crewmax.

Chevy/GMC I trade every 2-3 years put 180 thousand on them and never change anything but the oil! Everybody has their preference but I am sold on Chevy! 25 plus years and I wouldn't consider changing!

Nissan Titan. My 2008 has 272,000 miles on it & I tow a 30ft camper no problem. Also tow my 24 1/2 ft chris craft to the lake & back. Truck is a total beast & only replaced a blower motor & one wheel bearing in almost 300k!

If you go F150 don't get anything earlier than a 2008 or 2007. That's when they changed to the more recent version of it. Their F150s went downhill in the early 2000's. They pulled a Toyota and went with cheaper parts over quality parts from about '98 until 2004'ish. The F250's didn't suffer under that problem.
I have a 2008 F150 with 4 full doors and absolutely love it. Has the 5.4L V8.
I'd avoid dodge like the plague. The guy that posted he had so many miles w/o a problem is the first person I've ever seen with a dodge over 20k miles that didn't have problem after problem.
Silverado is a great choice if you like to do your own mechanic work. Chevy keeps their trucks a little easier to work on and parts are cheaper.
Personally, I'm a Ford man. My parents have a 2005 F250 Turbo Diesel and I've been jealous ever since they drove it off of the lot. Just a DAMN good truck.

I have a 2008 Titan as well and I love it! I have never had to do anything but oil changes and tires.

Of course it's a loaded question and you'll get a variety of responses, but IMNSHO a 3/4 ton diesel gives you the most flexibility and street cred with the Dodge 2500 Mega Cab being my suggestion. I love the creature comforts they build into them nowadays, but if you're going to keep it a while I'd suggest a 2006 with a 5.9. Diesel trucks can easily be fine tuned to get you 22+ Mpg, outrun a pony car, and out tow anything short of a semi. Take my advice for what it's worth but I'd consider it.
