I thought the same thing... does anyone have a vid of that play?
Also, I thought Lutz might have broken the plane with the ball before he fumbled.....but nobody ever mentioned that either.
It's Great to be an Auburn Tiger!!!

Lutz had control and it was clear on the replay. The ref did not signal TD until he recovered the ball. On the sideline you could tell that he did not know if he had recovered it in bounds
The chances that SC could have the FG unit on the field before the play was whistled in was small and there would have been no way to spike the ball. One second is still one second
it was hard to get any angle of that play due to the pitiful performance from CBS sports.....beuerlein is the worst and the director of that game pretty weak

The interception in the end zone was reviewed as reported on radio by Rob Bramlett. If you will recall right after the interception we had a TV time out and upon returning Rob reported the play had been reviewed during the time out and confirmed as an interception. I also agree you can not give SC an automatic time out at the end of the game. The officials have to get to the ball set it then temporarily stop the clock ( for just about 3 - 5 secs) to move the chains then immediately start the clock. No way SC gets their FG unit on the field in that lenght of time, and as explained by the time they got to the ball the game clock had expired just like their chances for winning that game - WDE
