PM, I also have lost my patience with Barbee. I don't blame JJ for losing games-I blame JJ for not hiring a basketball coach that can WIN games. In a year that basketball seems to be really down in the SEC, I expect AU to be near the bottom once again. The excuses continue- bottom line is this guy may be a great recruiter but he can't coach fundamentals like defense, preventing turnovers and free throw shooting. Don't recall Cliff Ellis, Jeff Lebo losing to the likes of Winthrop, Jacksonville State, etc.

Once again, we see that we aren't being coached properly. Tony may have been the hottest coach in America when we hired him, but if he was, he was overrated. At what point, 2-3 more years, do we say its on the court coaching that we lack? It's Barbees fault for whatever happens. Team doesn't show up? 100% Barbees fault. Team stagnates on offense, AGAIN, 100% Barbees fault. It's called poor coaching. It's not just losing one game, it's losing for almost 3 years now. How can one keep coming to the defense of Barbee? Sounds identical to the defense of Chizik until the wheels fell off so bad it was undeniable! Tired of the Excuses, heard me all now.

I would like to get excited about Auburn basketball, but when I read that we are losing to all these pitiful schools, I just can't. They keep calling me almost every day to buy basketball tickets! Sorry, but at this point in time, I wouldn't drive all the way to Auburn for free tickets. They just are not putting much of a product on the floor. You have to win the Winthrop/Mercer/Southern U type games all of the time, and at least compete against the better teams if you are going to pay for the Auburn Arena. Otherwise, they are going to be knocking it down in a few years to move back to an even smaller facility like The Barn.

My only concern about the b-ball team is that there is and has been stretches of being stagnet. Unlike football, smaller teams win more than their share against bigger schools in basketball. There are some great players at smaller schools that could and should play D1 ball. We do have a lot of young talent, AGAIN, on the court which will cause us to struggle. My question is when are we going to put an experienced team on the court and be disappointed when a name team beats us and not the Winthops of the world? War Eagle.

It doesn't matter who's playing...could be the Heat against Auburn. If the other team shoots around or over 50% and your team shoots under 40% you're gonna lose almost every time. The Christmas comments don't matter. The lack of defense and cold shooting by guys like FS is what made the difference. That's basketball fellas...sky is not falling.

Finding new ways to lose against any decent opponent is basketball. BAD basketball. Which is all we have played under Barbee.
