Whether or not we land those 5* players is not the important thing in my view. But rather the fact this staff is able to get these guys to at least consider AU at this late stage demonstrates to me that with a head start on recruiting they will bring in top ten classes in the future. And that is good enough to put us in the running for championships down the road.

Not to be a gloomy Gus, but I would be shocked if we don't miss out on most of the high profile guys we are going after. We are in the running for them because of the hard work and persistance of the staff but its probably too little too late and we don't have the guys on hand who were "negotiating" their signing. I would be thrilled if we ended up in the top 20 and kept the guys we have and add some role players. Foster, Adams, Lawson, Green, they are just using us for leverage to get a better deal.
Are you implying that some schools offer more than an athletic scholarship? Perhaps a financial incentive package ?
