I am cautiously optimistic. Regardless of what happens on NSD I am still excited by this staff and what the future could look like. It is quite a difficult task to come in late and make a big splash in recruiting, but I am hopeful that this staff will pleasantly surprise me.

Comparisons between Chizik and Malzahn opens a field for nasty things that can be said about Chizik. I doubt that was BM's intent and that pushes restrant. Same ole same ole. Guy was good at what he was doing and wasn't quite ready at the next level. Malzahn hasn't proven anything yet, but he sure is making a right good start.

the way i look at it we are at #19 now with 10 more spots to fill. that number will only go higher. A lot of the programs ranked high have 20 + commits.

Not to be a gloomy Gus, but I would be shocked if we don't miss out on most of the high profile guys we are going after. We are in the running for them because of the hard work and persistance of the staff but its probably too little too late and we don't have the guys on hand who were "negotiating" their signing. I would be thrilled if we ended up in the top 20 and kept the guys we have and add some role players. Foster, Adams, Lawson, Green, they are just using us for leverage to get a better deal.
