I am in sales and know what the coaches have to go through to win favor of a client/prospect. Looking at this looks like a pressure cooker to me. The assistant coaches are going to be challenged like they never have been before. They are also going to have to find the time to coach when they are not texting and tweeting. Then there are slime balls like Urban Meyer who will text and say negative things to a recruit while he is at a BBall game at another school while he is on an official visit. These kids will never have the time for a girlfriend, date, hunting, fishing or anything normal it seems to me.

The NCAA is insane. At what point do parents and school officials have a say so about the students time? These are kids that are supposed to learn time management. The NCAA needs to crawl into a hole and disappear.

You don't have to give out your phone number or you can turn it off. I guess that would be easier for me than a 16-18 year old kid. Most of the kids I have seen seem to enjoy the attention. Even with all of the relaxed rule changes, prospects can still have a lot more control than it seems.

They will just have to either buy a prepaid phone for coaches, which will run out quick, or turn their phone off.

There HAD to be a reason for that proposal that sounds better than giving the players a better opportunity to learn about schools and coaches. I thought coaches were limited in contacts, not players.

The coaches should be limited with any electronic contact. There should be multiple official visits for the kids to the school and the athlete should be able to request multiple in home visits.

And if these kids do have two phones; who is paying for the second phone. A lot of these kids families do good to pay for the first one I`m sure. I see way more problems with this than it solves. NCAA is just trying to make life easier for them; not the "Student" athlete.

Add this rule to pester the crap out of High School Juniors....But still no early signing period.. ??

This is a proposal to make the NCAA's job easier. Somebody has to try to keep up with how many calls, texts, fb posts, etc that a coach makes to a recruit. This is a cumbersome and costly job and in the end if someone goes over their limit, the punishment is a slap on the wrist. The NCAA, in it's insulated world, thinks, "hey, let's just get rid of the rule." They are not thinking of the consequences for others.
