While watching the bowls yesterday, I saw where ESPN recognized Alabama with 9 NC's, but somehow they claim 14. What a joke!!

This is one topic I wish the NCAA would step in and say this is how many each school has and put a end to the debate, claim what each school wants to claim doesn't make any sense whatsoever. We could claim more, Alabama should claim less and so on, doesn't make sense to me

So now we're going to be like Alabama and claim titles we didn't win outright? Sounds awesome. Especially considering you all make fun of Bama all the time for claiming those titles. This makes us no better than them in that department. Dumbest idea ever.

Do you really have that bad of an inferiority complex where you need to claim titles given to us by some random pollsters? Especially for titles dating back over a century. Get a grip, people.

You guys keep saying that, but it's not true. Everyone knows good and well who the outright champion is (except bama fans) and you guys keep yelling that to somehow ease your mind about Bama's success. Who won the National Championship for the 2010 season? Bet you don't think think that's just opinion now do you? Auburn fans wanting to claim those titles is just pathetic and puts us on the same level with the bama fans that we make fun of daily for counting championships that they didn't win.

Lol, nobody knows who the outright champion is because there isn't one. There is no NFL style playoff in which every team has an equal chance to win a championship on the field. Up until a few years ago it was voted on and now who gets to play for it is voted on. If it were so clear who the "outright" champion is, why would you need a vote? Wouldn't it be clear to everyone? There is no national champion in Div 1 college football. I know that runs afoul of everything you have believed in your life, but grow up and realize that your opinion is as valid as a sports writer's. Just because the sports writers tell you Notre Dame was the best football team in 19xx doesn't mean you have to swallow it. Use your own brain. You decide who was the best team in any given year. Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's.

Yeah, you're right. Auburn didn't win the National Championship in 2010. This is just people's excuse and sad attempt at rationalization because they can't stand the success that Bama is having right now. If we were about to win our 3rd Title in 4 years, no one on here would be bitching about "mythical national championships". I know what you are saying and technically it is correct, but the way you guys are portraying it is like you are totally oblivious to who the obvious champions have been and that's not the case. Just LBS rationalization.

Believe what you want. The truth is I quit giving a rip about mythical national championships as a kid in 1983. The obvious champion that year is not recognized as such by your all knowing sports writers. The reason? Bias. If you want to give credence to such a system, by all means, knock yourself out. Don't gloss over what I said about SEC championships. Those are what are important to me. Again, spuat has won way more of those than anybody else. In fact the number of SEC championships they have won is way more impressive than the number of MNC's they claim. There is absolutely nothing LBS about that. But, believe what you want. I will as well. That's really what everyone should do. Claim whatever you want when it comes to div 1 college football national championships. Oh, and you are right. AU didn't "win" a National Championship in 2010. They were awarded an opporunity to play in a BCS championship game that they won. There are any number of teams that can claim they were the best team in 2010 because they were not given the chance to play Auburn or were not given a chance to win their way into a playoff system.

Nope because the don't have trophies for all of there national titles, but we do!
