There was a time when the game most weekends could only be found on radio. Well, if you lived in the outback of Nashville in the 70's, that meant you really had to work at it to get the game. I figured it could always be found on a radio station somewhere in Alabama, so... living in Nashville, I got in my car every fall Saturday and headed South in search of just the right "signal". I did this for five years, always finding the signal at exactly the same place,eighty miles south of my home, at an abandoned service station off I-65, about ten miles north of the state line. The radio station always identified itself as Clarksville, which I assumed was somewhere in north Alabama. WRONG! Clarksville, I finally discovered, was fifty miles northwest of Nashville. I could have probably driven ten miles northwest of my home all those years and saved myself a ton of gas and many hours of driving time. Let's face it, love drives a man to do stupid things...
