I want to start off and say that I am not a troll. I am an Auburn University graduate and season ticket holder. Hate is not a strong enough word to describe how I feel about bama and Nick Saban, but, I am getting a little fed up with all the bama conspiracy theories. I'm not saying that bama boosters have not influenced recruits that were favoring Auburn. But, there have been Auburn boosters that have influenced recruits that were favoring bama as well. It works both ways. However, if you look at recent history and the troubles that Auburn has experienced, you would see that the majority of the troubles have been self-inflicted. Go back to 2003 and the infamous jet gate. We all know what happened and as a result, there was growing tension between Tommy Tuberville and the Auburn administration which came to a head in 2008 with a 5-7 season and Tommy Tuberville's resignation(or whatever you want to call it). It wasn't bama that boarded a plane and tried to hire Bobby Petrino, it was Auburn officials. How about the hiring of Gene Chizik? Auburn hired a coach that was 5-19 and totally out of his league. We all know how his tenure ended. Did bama force Auburn to hire Gene Chizik? Actually, most of the bama fans that I know were scratching their heads at why we hired GC. Jay Jacobs, who I don't even want to claim, chose friendship over qualifications when he hired GC. JJ is supposed to represent Auburn's best interest as the Athletic Director. It wasn't bama. How about the 2011 robbery, involving 4 Auburn players? Did bama have any involvement in that incident which resulted in all players being dismissed from the team and one player being convicted and sentenced to prison? How about the behavior of Michael Dyer? Did bama force Michael Dyer's attitude problems and drug use? How about the tragic shootings last summer that resulted in an Auburn player losing his life? Did bama have any involvement in that incident? What about all the discipline problems that have occurred over the last couple of years? The answer to all of these questions is NO. As far as Reuben Foster is concerned, BM has stated emphatically that he was not playing Auburn and that it was not a bama conspiracy and I believe him. If he had reason to believe it was, he would have stated it, just like he did with TJY. Something happened and judging from recent history, no outside influences were involved.
