Articles today sound like just cause

  • What was written to day sounds like just cause for termination with out buyout.

    Not really.

PM, I would have to agree with rodneybaker about just cause. I read your excellent article, "Rise & Fall..." GC did not do his job properly regarding the players, and it caused much damage to the program. In fact, not only has damage been done to the program, it has damaged the academic success of some of our players. I'm not sure how he looks in the mirror right now. I know I can't throw a stone at GC, but golly gee, he screwed up big time!

"you're so vain, I'll bet you think this post is about you, don't you? Don't you?"

  • It'll never happen. We'll pay the buyout because it's the right thing to do.

Trying to wiggle out of it would be the kind of slime move associated with a coach so many want hired.

    Just sayin biggrin

Cause to fire him and cause to deny his buyout are two different things. I'm sure they are both addressed in his contract.

You would be amazed..and I mean COMPLETELY amazed at the perverse definition of "for cause" in many employment contracts.

The right thing to do??? $175,000 per month for leaving our program in a huge mess, I fail to see how that is right. He was the captain of the ship when our program crashed into the rocks. A truly "good" man would be ashamed to take the money after his performance. We pay if we legally have to pay, that is what is right for us. As for BP....I respect him more for facing and apologizing for his mistakes (and being punished dearly for them) than I do a coach that would destroy a winning program and run away with the cash. If we are to forgive Gene, should you not find it in your self righteous heart to forgive Bobby?
