I don't blame "Auburn", but here's who I do blame....

I blame them and no one else.

They created the stories with which our good name was dragged through the mud by sensational, "if it bleeds it leads" media.

Does ESPN hate Ohio State? No, Jim Tressel made some choices.
Does SI hate UCLA? No, some kids made some choices.
Does Yahoo! hate Miami? No, some guy had a vendetta and ran his mouth.
Does ESPN hate Rich Rodriguez and Michigan? Nope, he and his staff made some choices.
Does the whole world hate Penn State? Nope, several men made several horrible choices.
Does ESPN or Yahoo! hate Oregon? No, Chip Kelly made some choices.

Do any of these outlets hate Auburn? Nope, Professor Gundlach, Cecil Newton, Mike McNeil, Shaun Kitchens, Antonio Goodwin, Dakota Mosely, Eric Smith, Mike Dyer, Varez Ward made some choices.

All of these people made choices that created the stories that were amplified and sensationalized.

Regardless of who spread the rumors, leaked the info, etc, they and they alone are to blame for making the mistakes in the kind of media world we live in, and their universities paid the price.

And all those players at Alabama made choices that created stories that were not amplified and were not senstionalized.Go figure.

You know why AU gets it's share of negative media coverage? It's pretty simple. If you are on top every one wants to knock you off the top. Just like when you played king of the mountain as a kid.

AU reached the top of the mountain in 2010 and the media, all of the Updykes and most of the rest of the college world especially in the SEC could not stand it. No one in th emedia and even us AU faithful predicted that AU would win a NC. Since the media missed their prediction by a mile they keep looking and hoping for a story to bring AU down and prove that they did not mess up. Along comes the Cam story. OH - ""we got them now - told you someting was wrong was going on there". Cam only added gas to the fire that already had been set. Even if there was never any Cam controversy they would have been just as upset. Most likely if we had not been about to run the table on an undefeated season the Cam story might never have broken. However, since 99.99% of the media and 100% of the rest of college football world came out with "AU GUILTY" only to be proven wrong, they have egg on their face.Now they will do anything to get that egg off. .

Now I know that sometimes the media does put out negative stories about other schools such as OSU, PS and the U. They have to or loose their jobs. I also know that a lot of media "knowitalls" who really know noting at all, have their head so up the Lil Smurf's read end that they can't see the light of day. In college football they will always gravitate to the program that is having the most success at the time. Remember when Southern Cal was winning all those championsips. Well all you heard was "SC this and SC that" and how they were the greatest dynasty of all time college football. Same with ND and OSU and FL. They could do no wrong in the natioanl media's eyes simply because the media guys wanted to be at the top of the list when they called or visited those schools. They wanted to be "The Media Guy" so the coach would give them the interviews and they would let the world know that Coach and I are buddy-buddy. It's the same with AL and the wee man now. Just look at P Scumbag. All he wants everyone to know is that he has Nickey's cell phone # and they are b---hole buds. Now they couldn't pull that off with Coach Chizik since they had already crapped in their mess kit by the time we beat Bama and had the crystal ball in hand. Maybe thsi is why Coach is so close to vest with everything. He simply doesn't trust thaoe who tried to bring him and his team down.

Well we may have slid back down that mountain a little last year but they see us coming back up that mountain and they are crapping in their dipers because they know we won't give up.
