Interesting words from a highly ranked recruit committed to Bama. I hope more prospects are carefully considering the same things this young man is thinking of.

Howard said he has talked with Alabama coach Nick Saban about the two players -- Justin Taylor and Darius Philon -- that were committed to Alabama for the 2012 class but were asked to grayshirt late in the recruiting process. Both prospects wound up signing with other SEC schools.

I wonder how Nicky danced around those questions.

Auburn still has a good shot at this kid.

He will be with AU come signing day. He just sounds too excited about Auburn and Lefty. Not to mention a little sceptical of lil nicky.

I know this is just speculation, but I wonder what would happen if the bammer bot, because of social pressure (ummm...to do the right thing btw), reconsidered their 4 yr scholly stance. The bill payers say yes, the evil feudal lord doesn't want because he can't shuffle guys away thus this creating a stand off of sorts. that would be fun to watch unfold.

Finally. The catch-up has begun.

i keep saying it over and over. saban is not a good recruiter or judge of talent. not even a great coach for that matter. when a coach has an extra ten guys to choose from year in and year out, he can stockpile alot of talent. if he knew what he was doing he wouldn't be missing on so many recruits and having to run them off. if he was a good coach he could coach up the ones he missed on. he is good at nothing other than running a college program like it is an nfl training camp. what would happen to a gm that missed on this many draft picks. if the coach had to release half of last years draft picks every year because they couldn 't cut it. that gm would be f***ing fired thats what. hes a good defensive coach. thats it. and only then when he has good players that have been through his process of elimination.
