Another Lack of Leadership

  • As we sit here today with no one even being interviewed yet for the head Coaching job, I submit it shows once again the lack of leadership at Auburn University. Every great leader has a constant updated list of candidates written down somewhere of potential candidates to take over a position as important as the Head Coach at Auburn. Every good leader updates their candidates yearly if not more! Especially when they were able to see this coming for so many months! I offer to you that this is once again the reason we as Auburn faithfuls and alumni constantly take a back seat not only in sports but in all phases of our great university.
When will the board of Trustee's see the obvious? Are we so eat up, with self indulgence and lack of forward vision that we can't even see the real problem. I believe this once again proves a complete cleaning from the top to the bottom needs to occur, we have no leadership, no vision for the future and we will once again pay the price and take a back seat to others!

Most of the coaches we are interested in have games this weekend. Interviews, if done in the professional manner, would start ASAP after the applicable candidate's game. This is not an issue.

  • Im not sure you dont have a valid point. I have zero "confidence" in JJ and even less in Goober Gouge. WHile many were blown away by the "committee", Im not convinced of their influence.

  • Let me assure you there is plenty going on behind the scenes. I think this thing is close to being done. As most of you know I am not a fan of JJ but I am pleased so far with the way this has gone.

Unlike AU, all of the potential coaches still have games to play excluding BP. Feelers have been sent. Give these guys time to make some initial evaluations. Geeez.

I have no inside information, but I know there's no patience with messing up this hire. JJ, despite what anyone does or does not think of him, has to know this.

Even at my level of employment, I cannot drop every responsiblity to work on a new job. I would not want a coach that would not make his current team his first priority. I guess all those coaches on that list will just drop everything and run down to meet with us at our whim. Ridiculous

  • If there needs to be a change from the top down, it's not because of this. As someone as already stated, most of the top targets are preparing for games this weekend and would not be available to interview until next week. Phillip wrote a fairly good blog about you earlier today...

  • I have come to the conclusion that the phrase "lack of leadership" is BS. What you really mean is they are not conducting this search the way that you would. I have complete faith in the people on this search committee and I believe they will bring us the best coach possible.

  • Insidesource, is it still looking like BP?
