The problem is the NCAA has no power over verbal offers, just written ones. There would be too much he said she said if they tried to regulate these. I do wonder if they could eliminate contact with middle schoolers.

And his commitment announcement to Alabama will coincide with his announcement that he has reached puberty. Let's hope that Saban doesn't offer him a grayshirt by then, or there could be real tears and a run to mommy. Could be more of a train wreck than the Philon announcement.

I don't like it either, but I imagine the kid enjoys it. He knows how rare that is, and is probably walking on cloud nine. It definitely would be cool. I do think, though, that a college shouldn't be able to offer until at least a child is in high school, and maybe even tenth grade.
