I have refrained from posting on any threads regarding this crime or threads involving RF but I decided to make this one post and one post only.

Lost in all the "hoopla" surrounding these types of crimes are the actual victims. Is it the football players, no. Is it the uat football team, no. Is the university, no. The real victims here are the kids who were mugged and robbed. They are the ones who will suffer from the emotional after affects associated with a crime of this nature as well as the loss of their property. Their families will now worry even more about their kids when they are away from home. Also affected are families of the players involved in the crime. Whether the environment that they were raised in was good or bad, families are affected. Crimes like this unfortunately happen all the time. They just get more attention when athletes are involved.

While everyone is playing the laugh at or bash at uat or take the high road game, remember this isn't about uat at all - it is just the location of the crime. Just like the robberies at AU. By focusing on the athletic program you trivialize the real victims, the people who were hurt and will suffer. This goes beyond any football team or program.

One never knows what these delusional sickophants will do. It will be interesting to see if they are prosecuted to the extent of the law.

When this happened to us last year, I really felt bad when some of the BAMMER's piled on; also, it made me feel better when some of the BAMMERS were understanding of our situation. I hope the young men can get their lives together because they have squandered a great opportunity--and much has been lost.
