Regardless of the sport, it is great to be the consistant winner in that particular field.
Football is where our passion lies, but, it's in Swimming and Diving where AU has found their niche in college athletics.

I believe in the SEC this win ranks 3rd in streaks. Florida women in volleyball I think won 18 straight and Arkansas Corss Country won 17 straight. However, I will grant you that Volleyball and Cross-Country didn't have the competition Auburn has faced in their run of 16. Three years in a row coming down to the last event. Tht's competition on a grand scale. To win 16 straight is remarkable. I also believe that makes 18 of the last 19.

It's been a long time since I've swam and certainly not at the collegiate level, but can someone educate me on the term NCAA 'A' cut? Not familiar with it. Anyways, congratulations to the Auburn swimming and diving team and bring home the national championship! War Eagle!

There was no mention of the SEC Swimming and Diving in our local newspaper. You would think that 16 straight would garner some mention, since every time UAT wins just a dual gymnastics event, there is an article. I guess I should just move to Auburn, where I can get coverage in the local paper,

Awesome performance to win 16 straight and 18 of the last 19 SEC Swimming and Diving Cahmpionships under three different coaches I believe. Now it is on to nationals on the west coast. Congratulations to all asociated with the team.

How things change. The Auburn pool in 1944 was about 20 yards long, the water was green, and gold rings shined like brand new and highly polished after a water polo match. Gem stones glistened like they had just been cleaned and polished at a top notch jewelers. Didn't have to do a thing. The water did it all. Now the facility is top of the line, the team is SEC champs so often it's taken for granted, contenders nationally every year, and you can drink the water, or at least it seems that way. That other view was Auburn when I first, and the family I married into first saw it. Now look. We owe a great number of Alabama citizens for the sacrifice they have made to build a factory that turns out crackerjack engineers, farmers, vets, business men, teachers, forestry majors, and all around Americans. Am I proud of Alabama? You're damn right I am.
