    Former wide receiver Kodi Burns will return to Auburn as new head coach Gus Malzahn puts his program in place

    Even though he's only coming back as a GA, I hope Kodi can show some of our whiny butt players about what it means to play on a TEAM and especially an Auburn team! If not, show them the door and kick 'em in the pants on the way out!!

    I think the NCAA changed that rule that year. Players have to wear the pads but they don't have to do the job they were intended. Guess they don't care about safety as much as they say.

    Watch the video on the new S & C coach. Trained under yox but integrates malzahns fast pace into his philosophy. Some changes are nothing against the guys being let go but a changing of times and I like the youth movement at this position. I liked yox, boulware, and Thigpen but also want to bring back Kodi, rocker, and Craig. I don't like that kids are more loyal to trooper than AU and even more to him than head coach.

    Come on guys, you give the guy the responsibility of rebuilding this program, don't second guess now what he is doing. Be behind him, support him in everything he is attempting to do and let him have the authority to carry that task out. Most incoming coaches always want someone around them that they have worked with and trusted, and is their staff. Let's get on the Gus Bus and ride! WDE!

    You are so right ... CGM is our coach and he has my total support ... love the fast pace and understand the need to do it his way! I think a clean slate is necessary but I love the fact that he is bringing back many with AU connections, especially Kodi! I am so excited about AU football and that is a great feeling! WDE!

    The recruiting prowess of these guys remains to be seen, but I'm sure they will do well. Keep in mind that Gus was always one of our most effective recruiters! Also, after observing what happened this year, #s of stars is only one piece of the pyramid. You've got to instill discipline, esprit de corps, and a willingness to work as hard as Gus and his staff will. Otherwise, a lot of these guys will be gone by spring.

    Thanks for using "esprit de corps". That's a term you have to win as a team player.

    "Swagger" on the otherhand is IMHO just an attitude of an individual.

  • What AU needs, right awa, is some quality players, who can make the plays that our team was missing last year. I hope Vox got fired because he said the team didn't quit and CGM didn't believe him (and Malzhn is right). It's nice to have some yound, gung ho, types around; however, it is imperative that the players are taught by some accomplished instructors. Thou old, Johnson clearly knows what it is going to take to win. Van Gorder seemed to be saying, along with the OC that our squad lacked the studs to get it done. If they were right, then we need to rebuild ASAP. Recruiting is a high skill and whether he believes it or not, CGM needs to get some more talent before next season. I had to chuckle at the guy who said we should beat ARK every year and 8-5 would be a failure. From here that means we have to get 5 more Ws than last year (including a serious beat down by ARK on our home field).

  • I agree with many of the comments. Kodi Burns was probably of the most inspirational players when it comes to being the "Auburn Man." He will be a great asset in just how he carries himself and talking with the current players. War Eagle!

    So impressed with the PRODUCTION we are getting from CGM. I think this example he is setting might just open the eyes of some our players. If this is what Gus gives, imagine the kind of production he will expect from them...and maybe even the kind of production he will expect from the fan base.

    One thing is for sure, it is GREAT and EXCITING to be an Auburn Tiger. War Eagle people...all I want for Christmas is more exciting Auburn news! Go Gus Go!
