A local girls HS team won a bball game last night 104-9

  • I am from the same hometown as Kendrick Perkins and last night his high school's women's team won 104-9. I think they are ranked number 5 in the state of Texas.

  • This happens a couple of times a year. I don't have an answer for this situation. Maybe a mercy rule and then play the remainder as a scrimmage. Just hate to see kids get injured or lose interest in sports when this type of event happens.

Playing keep-away is just as bad as 104-9.

I've seen coaches in soccer drop field players until the game is competitive.

  • Hope they let the clock keep running, but it doesn't look like they did.

  • Wow, what class that coach has. In HS Bball, where there is no shot clock, scores shouldn't get out of hand like this. I hope this coach gets hammered in the media.

I used to play soccer for an ultra competitive traveling team, and sometimes we would play out of league games against local parks and recs teams, etc.. We used to do the same thing, play like, 7 vs. 11, so it did not get to bad..

Dude, I seen a High School Girl's basketball team get beat 104-4. It's still in the Alabama High School Records book as we speak. Back in 1996, Eufaula High played Russell County High School. That's by far the craziest thing I have ever seen....

  • My senior year, we beat a team 101-32. Four years later, my high school beat our rival high school something like 53-6. I don't know how in the world a 3A high school team only manages 6 points in a game against another 3A team. Just shoot half court shots for crying out loud. Surly you'd make more than 2.

Anyways, yeah, holding the ball at half court for a whole quarter would just make me mad if I was on the other team. What we did when we were beating a team that bad was just play our JV squad (dressed out with varsity for the night) against them when it gets out of hand. We were up 31-4 after the first qtr and it was all JV after that. It is good to give the JV guys experience against older competition anyways. Now, if you've got your starters in still and it's getting that ugly that's another thing.
