I wouldn't sweat that.

Been doing this a long time, and that's common.

Teenagers (just like fans) can live in their own bubbles. A defensive player in Miami likely wouldn't know who Gus is. That shouldn't be a shock, and really is in no way an indication Gus lacks name recognition.

In the coming days and weeks, the prospects out there will be educated about Gus, who he is, what he's all about, what type of offense he'll have and what type of program he wants to run.

Two years ago I was covering UF for the Rivals site. You wouldn't believe how many kids had no idea who Muschamp was when he was hired. Guy had been w/ 3 major programs -- and the Dolphins.

Granted, Gus previously had been at Auburn.

But the truth is, most kids don't follow the ins and outs the way a lot of us do.

People have asked me my thoughts. Listen, I don't claim to know more about football than any of you. And I can't predict the future..

But I do follow football, and I've always thought this guy could coach. First, helping get Arkansas back on the map. Then, making something out of the Tigers with Cam.

It's easy for people to look at Cam now and say, "Well, he made that coach, that program."

But the truth is -- and you can ask anyone in Gainesville -- Cam just wasn't all that good when he was there. Couldn't throw with any type of accuracy at all, supposedly.

So, clearly, something happened. Somebody at Auburn did something right. Somebody figured out how to utilize the kid's talents.

Are you sure Cam would have made it big elsewhere? With some other OC?

Maybe. But maybe not.

So anyway, I suspect in the coming days and weeks, as people in the AU family rally behind Gus, HS prospects will learn all about him.

Gonna be fun to see how all this turns out.
