That said, could Barbee turn the corner sooner if we swapped to Nike? Personally, I still wouldn't bet on us competing for conference titles anytime soon under him, regardless of the shoe contract.
Here's another tough question, if we don't swap to Nike, can we really expect to lure a championship caliber coach in the first place? If we do, aren't we fooling ourselves in thinking that we'll be better than a middle of the road team?
I don't remotely claim to have good answers, aside from swapping shoes & the coach...but the numbers do not lie...only "2" of "64" in the NCAA Tourney last season wore Under Armour! That's something that our administration needs to take seriously! If not, we may as well save some serious $$ & hire a $2-300k/year guy that isn't expected to win the conference, much less anything more.
I'd prefer that we change course altogether & hire a new coach & a new shoe company! Just my opinion, which ain't worth much!

I admit that I have no idea how AAU works. Why do Adidas teams also have an advantage?
