Hey PT......good observation but would not read too much into a Texas teams numbers. Having lived there, I can tell you that the recruiting structure is geared into a different time period than most of the rest of the US. You will notice that 3 of the top 7 teams are Texas based and even TT has 4 commits (16th). In TX., I think because Texas started it, you know if you wantd to play for Big T you had to commit early because the class will fill very fast. That rolled down to the other TX schools and has become the over riding trend in the state. TX high school programs are geared for that time frame also. I do believe that this is becoming more of the same trend now with a lot of the larger programs and one we will see more of - especially as the SEC will now have to compete with TAMU for a lotof the same players. Looking at the other SEC schools, they are all just starting to sign their classes.
