One of the things I love about Auburn is, it is a place where young men (&women) grow to become better people. To do the right things. I respect the current coaching staff because they embrace that. Thusly I hope it was conveyed to this young man that yes he can come in as quarterback, however, as an athlete his playing time may be elsewhere. I'm giving HC GC the benefit of doubt and he did the right thing. He has earned that trust. Otherwise reminds me too much of Saban recruiting technique.

Personally, I have not heard much reference to their athleticism, like I am hearing about Smith. I can't say if he will ever be a QB at Auburn, or if he will even be a DB or WR. However, at this point, I don't want to rule out anything. Best of luck to him, whatever position he ends up playing. If it is QB, then he will have to beat out some very good ones!
