The Mayans divided their calendar into different ages of about 5000 years called long counts ( or epocs). This marks the end of the current age. There are ages after the current ones in mayan calendars. I would just chalk it up to the history channel making bank on scaring people.

Mal Moore has set a press conference for 12-20-12. Rumor is that he will be announcing Bama's "15th" NC just in case the Mayan prediction comes true on 12-21-12. AD Moore claims that the Tide has called dibs on all future NC Awards.

It represents the end of the current cycle. Their is disagreement on whether that means lots of catastrophic events or just a ho-hum change in life cycles, but that is why their long range calendar ended.

Has I been referring to you as dumb I would have said. "You are the most stupid person on here" or "if you weren't so dumb I would read your posts and take it to heart"
It was a thread about the end of the world...supposedly and you correlated that with our recruiting class... That's not the thing you say to show intelligence. Just sayin.

The calendar starts 12-22 and ends on 12-21. We will see a new beginning on the 22nd! Days will start to lengthen and soon new sprouts will come forth!
