OG Alex Kozan has big goals for his first season at Auburn.
"If you can't put your faith in an Auburn man, who can you put your faith in?"
This is probably not uncommon, but I love to see that our coaches walk the walk of family and don't stop recruiting a kid even after he signs his LOI. It seems like it would be easy for Grimes to lose contact after signing day, but the fact that he speaks to Kozan every week is impressive to me.
I got through the first two paragraphs and quit. This young man's attitude will see him an All American before he's through at Auburn. A perfectly matched set. Jeff Grimes, Alex Kozan, and Auburn University. I know he's an athlete and interested primarily at this point in grades and football-grades because if you fool around with sholastics you won't play for Chizik and Auburn. But as he passes through life, he'll realize that he was offered more from Auburn than football. His kind of youngman will get more too. I don't know Alex, but I have known a few like him. My Grandaughter starts her four year Temple Hospital Residence in just a few weeks. Eight years of college and she never turned away and failed one challenge. Alex is starting his march and I'm betting all of it that he has the same count in courageous determination, and won't fail either.
I'm very happy to say welcome aboard Alex, and I wish you well.

Great comments, great attitude and good to hear that grades are part of the process at AU. Interesting that at AU the total emphasis from the student is not on how he can prepare for the NFL!
War Eagle Alex, look forward to seeing you on the field!
That attitude is so much better than the "I am going to start and be a freshman All-American hopefully" position some take.
You have to EARN the honors. When guys show up, try to play based on their high school careers, they get disappointed and want to blame someone for their lack of playing time.
Work hard and earn what you get. At this level you have to combine that natural ability with lots of hard work and determination.
Attitude is Everything
He sounds a lot like Chizik, with the controlling the things he can, and letting everything else take care of itself. Like the attitude.
As most posts indicate this interview with Alex Kozan is impressive because of what the young man said and how he said it. And what is great about the attitude is that regardless of what he does accomplish, he will be doing it with a mature attitude and the right perspective. War Eagle, Alex.
I'll be the first to admit, I didn't care 4 months ago if we got this guy or not.
After reading that article, I'm so glad he found his home in Auburn. Seems like a very smart kid, we need as many guys like that on the team as possible.
Kozan has the perfect attitude. Come in, work hard, dont worry about all the other guys battling for the same position. Worry about doing your job, to the best of your ability, every single day, and things are going to work out for you. That is a guarantee.
War damn eagle Kozan!
This is for the Auburn Family and everyone who played here before we did. I love ya'll, War Eagle!' Nosa Equae 10/19/13 Kyle Field Texas A&M
If you have to ask why I love Auburn so much...never mind
