I may have missed it somewhere along the way, but I remember back in the summer Auburn was talking about or speculated to be using a package where there were no DTs and four DEs across the front to try and generate pressure, since we have more depth at DE. Anyone remember this, or have an update on why it never materialized?
This is what it looks like when a man makes heaven
come out of his six string
Thanks. It's pretty hard to tell what personnel are in there on my tiny tv.
I noticed we ran a 5 man front a few times also. Changing D's depending on down and distance.
Someone, check me on this...
This has been at the core of our problem on D, this season. I have seen this set and it made no impact. We couldn't get off of blocks..still zero pressure.
Is it technique, talent or experience? I hope given the ranking of our recruiting that it isn't talent. Leaves only experience and technique....which is it? If it's really experience....shouldn't we expect to get better? Are we? I guess we find out this weekend.
The ONLY pressure came from non base 4 3 sets. Either with a blitz or using a hybrid like Owens, to change the math. Bottom line... cannot win without measurable pressure with your 4 down linemen.
