QB CAM NEWTON

Noteworthy: Rushed for 288 yards and passed for 140.

On whether he carries the team

"Oh, no. I think I have the ability to get myself and the team out of trouble. It was very evident tonight that it wasn’t just me. The whole running back corps had an excellent game. You see Mike Dyer break a big one. Mario Fannin started running with purpose. All of it goes to the offensive line. Their names don’t get mentioned a lot. Those guys come in every single day, don’t complain and just do their jobs. Ever since they took that challenge early in the season, they really haven’t looked back."

On team's success in the fourth quarter

"We refuse to lose. The closer the game gets, the closer this team gets."

OC GUS MALZAHN

Noteworthy: The Tigers' 65 points were the most in school history in a Southeastern Conference game.

On Newton's performance

"A lot of times we put it on his shoulders. He’s like a running back playing quarterback, but he’s got a great arm and really good decision-making. I just think that he’s getting more and more comfortable with the offense. We just have to keep working. I was very impressed with him."

On whether Newton is the nation's best player

"I don’t know. I’m glad he’s on our team. I’ll tell you that. If there’s any better, they are pretty good."

[b[WR KODI BURNS[/b]

Noteworthy: Caught two passes for 33 yards, including a 21-yarder

On his performance:

"I feel like I did all right. I had two pretty good catches and blocked well on the perimeter. We stuck together as a team and got the win. We pretty much scored whenever we needed to., even when we shot ourselves in the foot. Overall, I think we played pretty well."

On getting ready for next Saturday's game against LSU

"We need to work on eliminating stupid penalties. Every time we get in the red zone, we need six instead of kicking field goals."

RB ONTERIO MCCALEBB

Noteworthy: Returned a kickoff 99 yards to the Arkansas 1-yard line and scored on a 13-yard run.

On his 99-yard kickoff return

"The coaches came up with the perfect blocking scheme. I saw the hole and was able to make a long run."

On his touchdown run

"It was awesome. Coach called the play and my blockers lined up and blocked. It was wide open. It was an easy walk-in."

RB MARIO FANNIN

Noteworthy: Rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

On offense rushing for 330 yards

"We are getting better every week and finding ways to get things done. We work hard every day, and that's why we have a great offense. We executed our plays well and trusted our teammates."
