Yup. He'll be a redshirt junior in 2013-14 with two years to play for Auburn.

Meh, I am kind of tired of these transfers. They just do not seem to pan out that often. Hopefully he will.

That's great and all that we are getting him; however, have we looked into getting the center from UConn? I think I read somewhere where he was leaving UConn. Has he signed with anyone? Why don't we go after him?

The SEC doesn't accept 1-year transfers so Alex Oriakhi won't be coming to Auburn.

Looks like Barbee is doing some roster management - as it stands now we have no seniors in the year Harrell would be scheduled to graduate.
is it possible he will walkon this year and get a scholarship in next Falls signing class as a way to allow us to sign one more this spring?

I was told he will be on scholarship when he enrolls.

Yes, Auburn is still looking for a big man. They plan to bring in some visitors for A-Day weekend and I'll have an update on those in the coming weeks. Not sure of the top targets just yet.

He could fill it up from 3-point range in high school and shot 42 percent from beyond the arc as a freshman at UVA.

He also shot 42% from the field and 64% from the line. We've have a lot of that in recent years.

Eh...not too excited honestly. I hope the kid does really well, but these transfers have not been flourishing under Barbee. I believe Coach Barbee is the man to get Auburn into an annual NCAA tournament bidder.

V. Ward was starting at guard, but had some alleged honesty issues. The kid from Clemson was injured so we don't know about him yet.
The guys who transferred from Auburn to Indiana and FSU did pretty well.
Each transfer, and his situation is different. Apparently Barbee believes this is his best option at the time. Time shall tell.

My only problem with transfers is this: There is always a reason they are transferring. It's not like they are coming from junior college. I'll take those kids all day but I'm biased as I'm a two year college history and ethics guy. However, a kid coming from one D-1 school to another D-1 school knowing they will have to sit out a year does at least raise your eyebrow a little as to why. There is always a reason I just hope that the kid is in the right and we're getting a star. I don't have a clue either way I don't know anything about him or the Virginia Basketball program.
