4-STAR OT TAKING HIS TIME: Following a strong performance at ESPN’s the Opening in Beaverton, Ore., 4-star offensive tackle Patrick Miller from Dwyer in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., is keeping an open mind when it comes to recruiting. He’s previously listed Auburn and LSU as his top two schools.

“It’s weird I really have no clue where I stand with the recruiting so I just tell people I have no idea. I’m not too worried about it obviously…I actually haven’t been doing any talking to any coaches in a while. I’ve just been working out and doing class and I’m not ever on my phone,” Miller told 247Sports.

“I think I’m going to start talking a little bit more to Miami just to give them a look because it is my backyard, and then I’m still talking to Auburn a little bit. I talked to Coach (Jeff) Grimes and I know I’m going to go up to LSU again to take another look, and I’m going to go look at Florida again probably, since I know a lot of kids up there now. So might as well get another look at it.”

4-STAR OL READY TO TRIM LIST: 4-star offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nev., is preparing to cut down a long list of offers that includes one from Auburn. He plans to officially visit five schools before making a decision later in the process.

“I would say about thirty offers have come in but I’m cutting it down pretty soon to between ten and thirteen,” Stanley told 247Sports. “I know some of who will be on there but I don’t want to say anything until I know the full thing. I want to be really sure even though I’m not picking anyone for a long time.”

5-STAR QB KNOWS HIS SCHOOL: 5-star quarterback Jameis Winston from Hueytown in Bessemer, Ala., told the Birmingham News Monday that he’s close to announcing a decision between Alabama, Florida State and LSU.

“I know where I want to go,” Winston told the News, adding he wouldn’t pass up “first-round money” if taken in the baseball first-year player draft next year. “I’m going to pick pretty soon, this week or next week. I want to go somewhere that will let me play both sports.”

Winston had two huge games at the AHSAA All-Star North-South baseball series going 4-of-5 including a grand slam with seven RBI’s. He also picked up a win, pitching two scoreless innings in game one.
