DECISION COMING SOON: After his third official visit, forward Brandon Mobley from St. John’s NW Military in Delafield, Wisc., is ready to make a decision. Mobley visited Auburn in February, Seton Hall in March and DePaul last weekend. He will choose one of those three schools Thursday.
“I like Auburn’s coaching staff and that it’s close to home,” Mobley said. “At Seton Hall, it’s in the Big East and in a big city and it’s a chance to expand my game. At DePaul, I liked downtown Chicago and the campus. It’s a chance to take my game to the next level.”
Mobley, who is from Savannah, Ga., plans to announce his decision Thursday on ESPN.
“It’s going to have to be gut,” he said. “I’ve tried to do the pros and cons but pretty much all of them have what I’m looking for.”
LACEY READY FOR FIRST VISIT: Combo guard Trevor Lacey from Butler in Huntsville is one of the nation’s top remaining unsigned prospects. Lacey originally planned to officially visit Auburn this weekend but will be at Alabama instead.
He also plans to visit Auburn and Kentucky before making a decision although dates for those trips haven’t been finalized. The spring signing period for basketball begins Wednesday and lasts until May 18.
“They’re all even,” Lacey said of his three finalists.
"Coach Saban said he had seen my film and he thought I was one of the most explosive defensive players he had seen in a while,” Mitchell told 247Sports. “That means a lot coming from a guy like him because he's not really known to just hand out compliments like that."
Mitchell also has offers from Auburn, Southern Miss and UAB. He’s visited Auburn a number of times and plans to be back this Saturday for the spring game. Auburn signed Leeds cornerback Jonathan Rose in February.
NATION’S NO. 1 TE HAS TOP THREE: Tight end Ricky Parks from Callaway in Hogansville, Ga., has narrowed his list to Georgia, Auburn and Alabama and plans to have a decision before the start of his senior season. Parks visited Auburn a couple of weeks ago and was at Georgia last weekend.
“For my decision it is going to be which coaching staff stands out the most,” Parks told 247Sports. "I am looking for a staff that makes me feel comfortable and at home.”
