Rewind: DE will camp at Auburn

FAST-RISING DE WILL CAMP AT AUBURN: Defensive end Darius English from McEachern in Powder Springs, Ga., has seen his recruitment take off this spring with offers from more than a dozen schools, including Auburn. English, 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds, plans to attend Auburn’s senior mini-camp on June 12. He lists a top three of Auburn, South Carolina and Michigan State and plans to have a decision in early August.

ALEXANDER READY TO CUT LIST: Linebacker Kwon Alexander is getting close to narrowing down list of nearly 30 offers. A 4-star from Oxford (Ala.) High, Alexander already plans to officially visit Oregon and USC. He said Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, LSU, Clemson and Arkansas are recruiting him the hardest.

“I’m going to work on my top ten in the next few weeks,” Alexander told 247Sports. “I might release it, but I’m not sure yet. I’m going to sit down with my dad and talk about all the schools and see which one’s we’re going to visit. I haven’t taken many visits yet, but I’m going to start taking a few in the next couple weeks.”

BIG OG IS WIDE OPEN: Four-star offensive guard D.J. Reader from Grimsley in Greensboro, N.C., has more than a dozen offers, including some from the nation’s top schools. Auburn is among them.
Reader, 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, doesn’t claim any favorites and hopes to visit Auburn for the first time this summer.

“Everybody is on the same level, and I don’t have anyone that stands out,” Reader told 247Sports. “I’ve been around to the North Carolina schools, but not that much because I play baseball during the summer. This summer, I’m planning to take three or four trips.”

INTEREST PICKING UP FOR 2013 RB: Schools are already lining up for running back Lorenzo Woodley from Columbus High in Miami, Fla. The 2013 prospect, who is a cousin of former Michigan and current Pittsburgh Steeler linebacker LaMarr Woodley, recently picked up his first offer from Rutgers and is hearing from several other schools including Auburn.

“A coach from Auburn told my coach that they would have an offer for me when they come back to the school,” Woodley told 247Sports. “Then I’ve heard from Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Miami of course. The only college I’ve ever been to is Miami when I was at the Nike Camp they had this year.”

BIG OFFER FOR IN-STATE QB: Quarterback Jonathan Wallace from Central in Phenix City picked up an offer Friday from Oregon. It’s the first big offer for Wallace, who is considering an unofficial visit to Oregon this summer.

"It's a dream place to play college football," Wallace told 247Sports. "I think it has a great fan base. Everyone is excited about football there and the cool thing is that the players go there from all over the country."

LOADED HIGH SCHOOL: Three more Stephenson prospects recently committed bringing the total to nine for the talent-rich high school in Stone Mountain, Ga. All nine have committed to ACC or SEC schools. Wide receiver Shawn Blaylock picked Kentucky on Thursday, 4-star defensive end Jarontay Jones (Virginia Tech) on Saturday and defensive back Kyle Fleetwood (South Carolina) on Sunday.

Stephenson’s other commits include running back Mike Davis (Florida), lineman Jafar Mann (Florida), linebacker Raphael Kirby (Miami), defensive lineman Carlos Hood (South Carolina), wide receiver DeMarcus Sweat (Kentucky) and linebacker Darreon Herring (Vanderbilt).

Stephenson has at least five more prospects in tight end Josh Parris, running back T.J. Moon, wide receiver Delon Stephenson, offensive lineman Nicholas Gibbons and offensive lineman Steve McKenzie,

THIS AND THAT: Four-star wide receiver Durron Neal from DeSmet in St. Louis, Mo., has trimmed his list to nine schools, including Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, Oregon, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Michigan and Michigan State ..... Four-star defensive tackle Aziz Shittu from Buhach Colony in Atwater, Ca., has decommitted from Stanford and is planning official visits to Auburn, California, Washington, USC and Stanford ..... Four star wide receiver Zac Brooks from Jonesboro (Ark.) High, who recently trimmed his list to Arkansas, Notre Dame, Clemson and Auburn, will announce a decision on Sept. 23, his brother’s birthday ..... Defensive end Tyler Stargel from Gulf Shores High committed to Georgia Tech ..... Twins Daron Blaylock and Zack Blaylock from Walton in Marietta, Ga., committed to Kentucky on Sunday. They are the sons of former NBA guard Mookie Blaylock.
