4-STAR LB ADDS A BIG OFFER: Linebacker Kaiwan Lewis from St. Joseph in Hammonton, N.J., has more than 25 offers.
Lewis is the nation's No. 7 ILB.
On Saturday, he added one more to the list when he spoke with Auburn defensive coordinator Ted Roof.
“Coach Roof told me they watched my film a couple of times and I had a scholarship to Auburn,” Lewis said. “It’s big getting an offer from the SEC and the defending National Champs.
“I’m looking forward to hopefully getting down there this summer for a visit.”
Lewis also has offers from Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas, Florida State, Miami, Virginia, Georgia Tech, California, Rutgers and Boston College. He’s wide open in his recruitment.
“I plan on waiting until National Signing Day,” he said. “To narrow it down, the coaches will pretty much do that by the way they recruit me.”
ELITE GUARD DOWN TO FINAL THREE: Combo guard Trevor Lacey from Butler in Huntsville is set to officially visit Auburn this weekend. He also plans to visit Alabama and Kentucky before making a decision.
“All three of those schools are still in it and they are all even,” Lacey told 247Sports. “I have seen some rumors out there about certain schools being ahead or being dropped off my list, but none of that is true. All three of those have an equal shot right now."
Lacey also addressed the rumors about him being a non-qualifier
“My grades are in good shape, even though I still need to get my ACT score up,” he said. “I've only taken it once and I'm already planning to take it again soon. I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to get my score up and academics shouldn't be a problem for me at all.”
The spring signing period is April 13 - May 18.
2013 OL MAKES EARLY PLEDGE: Florida State picked up a bit of a surprise commitment Sunday from offensive lineman Austin Golson from Prattville High. Golson, one of the state’s top prospects for 2013, chose the Seminoles just days after visiting.
“I was at FSU on Thursday. When I got home I talked it over with my parents and we decided it was time to do it,” Golson told 247Sports.
Golson, 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, grew up an Auburn fan, but he said he started leaning toward FSU about a year ago.
“I started thinking about actually playing college football, instead of just being a fan, and FSU is where I want to go,” he said.
