Rewind: 5-star to visit AU

BUSY SUMMER AHEAD FOR PEAT: Five-star offensive tackle Andrus Peat from Corona Del Sol in Tempe, Ariz., recently cut a long list of offers to 13 schools. He plans to start visiting some of his finalists this summer starting with Notre Dame on June 17.

Peat is the nation's No. 2 OT.

"I want to get to Texas and then make a trip to some schools in the South like Auburn, Florida and maybe Florida State," Peat told 247Sports. "Texas will be at the end of June and the others in July, probably."

AUBURN MAKES CUT: Five-star defensive tackle Eddie Goldman from Friendship Collegiate in Washington, D.C., trimmed an impressive list of offers to 15 schools Tuesday. Friendship coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim confirmed to 247Sports that Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, North Carolina, N.C. State, Maryland, Virginia and California made the cut.

Goldman, 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds, visited Auburn this spring and is expected back for a second visit this summer or fall.

WORKING TO NARROW LIST: Four-star defensive tackle Carlos Watkins from Chase in Forest City, N.C., has yet to narrow down a list of 19 offers but plans to do so after a number of trips this summer. Watkins, 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, has already visited Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia Tech. He plans trips to Miami, Notre Dame, Florida, Alabama and Auburn in June and July.

“After I take these visits over the summer, I’m hoping to narrow it down,” Watkins told 247Sports. “I want to get to as many places as I can so I’m ready to commit before the season starts. I might have to take some official visits but I’m not waiting until signing day or anything like that.”

READY FOR TAKEOFF: Shamire Devine, a 2013 offensive lineman from Tri-cities in Atlanta, Ga., picked up his first offer from Kentucky and recently added another from Georgia after a standout performance at the Bulldogs’ camp. DeVine, 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds, will be looking to earn a third SEC offer this week when he attends a camp at Auburn. Florida and Tennessee are also pursuing the rising junior.

“I've started on my list,” DeVine told 247Sports. “I think I'll be done about midway through my junior year.”
