Rewind: 4-star RB cuts list

GREEN NAMES HIS FINALISTS: 4-star running back Derrick Green from Hermitage in Richmond, Va., was hoping to narrow his list to a Top 5 but instead has it cut to six finalists. The final six are Auburn, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

Green is a top Auburn target.

“He took a huge jump from his sophomore year to his junior year in terms of understanding he needs to be the guy,” Hermitage coach Patrick Kane told 247Sports.

TOP SEVEN FOR TOP 2014 DB: 5-star cornerback Jalen Tabor from Friendship Academy in Washington, D.C., projects as one of the nation’s top prospects for the 2014 class. Tabor visited Auburn and several other top schools this summer and has an early list of favorites.

“The top seven is Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Miami, Maryland, and Auburn,” Tabor told 247Sports. “I don’t have any visits lined up but I want to see Miami and South Carolina. I’ve been to all the other ones in my top seven.”

TOP 2014 LB TAKING HIS TIME: 4-star 2014 linebacker Tre’ Williams from St. Paul’s in Mobile, Ala., visited both Auburn and Alabama this summer and plans to be back to both schools for games this fall. He continues to list both the Tigers and Tide at the top of his list and plans to hold off on a decision until next summer at the earliest.

“It’s still the same with Alabama and Auburn,” Williams told 247Sports. “I’ll start thinking about which school I really and truly want to go to and which school fits best for me closer to my senior year. I think around the end of my football year as a senior is when I’ll start narrowing it down.”
