Sitting at 9-0 with three games remaining, Auburn’s football team has an opportunity to make history. The Tigers are four wins from playing for the BCS championship.

But that, of course, is one just one possibility. What are the others? Here are the potential scenarios:

Auburn beats Chattanooga, Georgia and Alabama, wins the SEC Championship Game. Most likely bowl: BCS Championship Game.

Auburn beats Chattanooga, Georgia and Alabama, then loses in the SEC Championship Game. Most likely bowl: Orange.

Auburn beats Chattanooga, loses to Georgia, beats Alabama, wins the SEC Championship Game. Most likely bowl: Sugar.

Auburn beats Chattanooga, loses to Georgia, beats Alabama and loses the SEC Championship Game. Most likely bowl: Capital One or Cotton, with a chance at a BCS bowl.

Auburn beats Chattanooga and Georgia, loses to Alabama. Most likely bowl: Orange.

If Alabama should lose to LSU or Mississippi State before the Iron Bowl, Auburn could clinch a spot in the SEC Championship Game with a win over Georgia and could conceivably even get there with two losses.

The East Division race will almost certainly be decided on Nov. 13 when South Carolina plays at Florida.

Hold on tight. The next few weeks are going to be quite a ride.
